Okay, I went really overboard last night and produced 22 minutes of
stuff designed to be played softly by people sitting in cubicles. (At
work, that is. Those of you who sit in cubicles for FUN will have to wait.)

It's called valvogoth, and the idea is to add a bit of steampunk ambiance.

Here are links to the full-size version on last.fm:

Here's a nine minute edit at Soundclick:

(And for something utterly different, here's another new track that's
under a minute:

Forget the nine minute edit John, its 22 minute hardcore listening or die
trying. Actually I am enjoying it and for some unknown reason am thinking of
THX-1138.
That is a good sign :-)

I listened to this twice through last night while wasting time surfing
Apophysis links. While I wasn't at work in the cube farm, I was
performing the same activity I would otherwise be engaged in within
said cube. I have to say it grew on me. I believe it works exactly as
you intended for your target audience. If you have more similar stuff,
I'll gladly give it a try.

Also, I had the windows open by my computer, and it took me almost a
minute after the playback ended to realize that it had actually
stopped, and what I was listening to was the tree frogs chirping
outside the window. Segued seamlessly with the tree frogs. Thumbs up
John.

Neato! Glad to hear it fulfills its function so well. (I confess, I'd
only listened to it at home, so far.)

It's been a bit of time since I did something targeted at ambience
formats. Other of my stuff may be found at:
